Dear Son,

I started this blog for several reasons.  But if I’m honest – and I promise to be always — it’s as much for me as it is for you.  You are a young adult, beginning your life, making decisions about school, a career, where you’ll live – the big stuff.  I worry about you.  I miss you. This blog is a way to connect with you, to offer support, guidance and bits of wisdom I’ve learned having been in your shoes or that God has put in my heart to share with you. 

I struggle, as most moms do when kids leave home and need their parents less and less.  It seems ironic to me that just as you’re becoming independent, you’re also making some of the most important choices you’ll make in your life.  I just want you to know that you’ll always have a safe place to share without judgment or to talk things through with someone you can trust.

Most of all, I want you to know that there is someone who is praying for you, advocating for you and who loves you more than written or spoken words can describe.
